The Ancient Road offers many different types of accommodation – from traditional-style inns to primitive shelters located along The Ancient Road’s scenic surroundings.
When traveling on The Ancient Road on a cycling or hiking trip, it is nice to have planned accommodations along the way.
Bøllingsø camping is close to the The Ancient Road and here you have many good accommodations, whether you want to stay in a tent or cabin. We also have a small shop where it is possible to buy some food.

The Ancient Road’s location originates in the landscape of the ice age. After the ice had retreated, streams, rivers were began draining to the east.
The area between the eastern and west directed streams is called the water-shells – here it was easier to get the dry-wood through Jutland, and this was why The Ancient Road was here.
Since the earliest residents in the country, people have moved along The Ancient Road. Therefore, you can experience monuments dating back to the Bronze Age and some of the most beautiful monuments of Denmark’s Viking Age can be found on this road. Especially in and around Jelling.
